Pendidikan dan Latihan Teknikal dan Vokasional (TVET) memainkan peranan penting dalam melahirkan tenaga kerja berkemahiran tinggi yang memenuhi kehendak industri. Salah satu strategi utama ialah pelaksanaan kurikulum berasaskan industri yang diperkukuh melalui penglibatan pihak berkepentingan khususnya sektor industri agar selari dengan perkembangan teknologi semasa. Selaras dengan itu, Program Pensyarah Pelawat Industri (PPI) diperkenalkan sebagai pendekatan pengajaran dan pembelajaran yang melibatkan pengamal industri secara langsung dalam sesi Pengajaran dan Pembelajaran (PdP). Kajian ini bertujuan menilai keberkesanan pelaksanaan program PPI dalam kursus Integrated Project (DFT50114) melibatkan pelajar semester akhir Diploma Teknologi Maklumat (Teknologi Digital) - DDT di Jabatan Teknologi Maklumat dan Komunikasi (JTMK), Politeknik Muadzam Shah (PMS). Seramai 50 orang pelajar terlibat sebagai responden, terdiri daripada dua sesi pengajian iaitu sesi 2: 2023/2024 (n=24) dan sesi 1:2024/2025 (n=26). Data dikumpul menggunakan soal selidik yang merangkumi empat domain utama iaitu akademik, eksplorasi, personaliti dan keterkaitan. Analisis dijalankan secara kuantitatif menggunakan skor min dan ujian-t sampel bebas. Dapatan menunjukkan purata skor min bagi semua domain berada antara 3.58 hingga 3.78, mencerminkan persepsi positif terhadap keberkesanan pelaksanaan program. Keputusan ujian-t sampel bebas mendapati tiada perbezaan yang signifikan antara dua sesi bagi kesemua domain (p > .05), justeru hipotesis nol diterima. Dapatan ini mencerminkan pelaksanaan program PPI yang konsisten dan sistematik merentas sesi pengajian, hasil daripada perancangan strategik, pelaksanaan berstruktur serta pemantauan berterusan oleh pihak institusi bagi memastikan keselarasan program dengan kehendak dan keperluan industri
Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) plays a crucial role in producing a highly skilled workforce that meets industry demands. One of the key strategies involves implementing an industry-based curriculum strengthened through the involvement of stakeholders, particularly from the industrial sector, to ensure alignment with current technological developments. In line with this, the Industrial Visiting Lecturer Program (PPI) was introduced as a teaching and learning approach involving direct participation of industry practitioners in the teaching and learning (T&L) sessions. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the PPI implementation in the Integrated Project course (DFT50114) involving final-semester students of the Diploma in Information technology (Digital Technology) – DDT at the Department of Information and Communication Technology, Politeknik Muadzam Shah. A total of 50 students participated as respondents, consisting of two cohorts: Session 2: 2023/2024 (n=24) and Session 1: 2024/2025 (n=26). Data were collected using a questionnaire covering four main domains: academic, exploration, personality, and relevance. The analysis was conducted quantitatively using mean scores and independent samples t-test. Findings revealed that the average mean scores for all domains ranged between 3.58 and 3.78, indicating positive perceptions of the program’s effectiveness. The results of the independent samples t-test showed no significant differences between the two sessions across all domains (p > .05), thereby supporting the acceptance of the null hypothesis. These findings reflect a consistent and systematic implementation of the PPI program across academic sessions, attributed to strategic planning, structured execution, and continuous monitoring by the institution to ensure program alignment with industry needs and expectations.
