Kajian ini dijalankan bagi menilai kekangan pelaksanaan Kursus Profesional Eksekutif Halal di Politeknik Malaysia dan hubungannya dengan tahap penglibatan pelajar dan peserta industri. Industri halal Malaysia sedang berkembang pesat, menjadikan penyediaan tenaga kerja berkemahiran sebagai satu keperluan strategik negara. Kajian ini memberi tumpuan kepada tiga aspek utama iaitu kekangan sumber, kekangan kurikulum dan penyampaian, serta tahap sokongan institusi dan dasar pengurusan. Reka bentuk kajian menggunakan pendekatan campuran (mixed-methods) melibatkan soal selidik kepada 106 pelajar dan temu bual separuh berstruktur bersama lima responden. Hasil kajian menunjukkan kekangan sumber mempunyai hubungan korelasi sangat kuat dengan tahap penglibatan pelajar (r = .922), dan merupakan penyumbang paling signifikan dalam model regresi (β = .679). Sokongan institusi juga memberikan impak positif yang tinggi (β = .661), manakala kekangan kurikulum dan penyampaian menunjukkan pengaruh negatif terhadap penglibatan pelajar (β = –.354). Temubual kualitatif pula mengenal pasti lima tema utama: keperluan fleksibiliti pelaksanaan, penglibatan industri, pendedahan lapangan, pengiktirafan antarabangsa, dan pendekatan kolaboratif. Responden mencadangkan pelaksanaan kursus secara fleksibel, kerjasama strategik dengan industri, serta penggunaan kaedah pembelajaran digital dan berasaskan amalan sebenar. Kesimpulannya, keberkesanan kursus ini sangat bergantung kepada kekuatan sumber, dasar institusi yang menyokong, serta penambahbaikan kurikulum dan pedagogi yang bersifat kontekstual dan berorientasikan industri. Kajian ini menyarankan penstrukturan semula pelaksanaan kursus bagi memastikan kelestarian dan keberkesanan pembangunan tenaga profesional halal negara.
This study aims to evaluate the constraints in implementing the Halal Executive Professional Course at Malaysian Polytechnics and its impact on student and industry participant engagement. As Malaysia emerges as a global leader in halal certification, the demand for skilled halal professionals has become increasingly critical to support the integrity of the halal supply chain and drive national economic growth. The study focuses on three key constructs: resource constraints, curriculum and delivery limitations, and institutional and policy support. Adopting a mixed-methods research design, quantitative data were collected from 106 students via structured questionnaires, while qualitative insights were obtained through semi-structured interviews with five selected respondents. Findings reveal that resource constraints have a very strong positive correlation with engagement (r = .922) and are the most significant predictor in the regression model (β = .679). Institutional support also shows a substantial positive effect (β = .661), whereas curriculum and delivery constraints negatively influence engagement (β = –.354). Thematic analysis of interviews identified five key themes: flexible course implementation, direct industry involvement, practical exposure, international recognition, and collaborative teaching approaches. Respondents recommended offering courses with flexible scheduling, stronger industry partnerships, digital and real-world experiential learning, and global accreditation to enhance the course’s relevance. In conclusion, the effectiveness of the Halal Executive Course is strongly influenced by resource availability, proactive institutional policies, and the quality of curriculum and delivery. The study suggests a comprehensive restructuring of the course to ensure it meets industry demands and contributes meaningfully to the development of competent halal professionals in Malaysia.
